Cranborne

Seen here on a hot day in July, the village of Cranborne lies at the centre of Cranborne Chase. A large manor house dating from the time of Henry VIII, an abandoned motte and bailey castle to the south-east, and a 13th century house built for King John are all clues to a more significant past; today it is a relatively quiet and undisturbed part of the county.
