Evershot

Autumn's mists cleared slowly on this October day, spent in the undulating farmland of north-west Dorset. The gallery starts in Evershot (ST 575 045) with its attractive collection of 17–19th century buildings lining either side of the main street. Then explores around the narrow winding lanes to the south – past the old post office at Rampisham (ST 563 023) and to the west – past grand secluded manors and modest farmhouses at Corscombe (ST 520 053). Finally returning past the motte and bailey atop the ridge at East Chelborough (ST 552 054).
